Executive Director of Black Men Teach

Markus came to Black Men Teach as a science teacher in Minneapolis following his passion for creating educational opportunities for future Black male teachers. An active community leader, Flynn is known to Black Men Teach from his volunteer efforts with its College Cohort Program, which recruits Black men to join the teaching profession. He has served as a volunteer at Raising Readers, President of the Black Graduate Student Association and founder of the Creating the Academic Pipeline Program.

Co-MingL, a world-class 10-piece band, has quickly become a Twin Cities sensation, selling out shows across the city. Led by a trio of magnetic and talented singers, this ensemble blends smooth, soulful sounds with modern flair, creating rich harmonies and melodies. Known for their dynamic live performances, Co-MingL pays tribute to legendary artists while offering a fresh, modern approach. The band has just released their second single, “How To Love Again,” further establishing their place as a force in the music scene.

Gabrielle Grier

In her work, Gabrielle thrives by generating strategic thought, recognizing through partnerships that complex social problems can be solved. She brings a wealth of already existing relationships to AALF along with her successful track record of implementing innovative change. Prior to joining The Forum, Gabrielle was the Managing Director at Juxtaposition Arts, a North Minneapolis nonprofit youth art and design education center. A visionary artist, she led JXTA for five years as a contemporary change agent and relational builder.
